Happy Anniversary

July 14th was our 5th Anniversary. Hillary was treated to surprise reservations at Porta Bella.
Happy Anniversary!!!
If you haven't been we both recommend dining there. Very good food and romantic too.

After dinner we visited the Memorial Union and it was a perfect night to sit out and listen to music and relax.

Make Your Own Ice Cream at the Kid's Musuem

Back to the old MooHaasUm
Audra checks out the baby chickens from a safe distance.
When concerned about meeting new animals it is best to keep a safe distance, this is when is binocs are helpful.
...unless you are using the wrong end.
I hope this is as close as she gets to a mouse that isn't named Mickey. She also met a Turtle, a Fish an a Pigeon.

We will be sure to save this for her wedding day.
Grady is in the Crow's Nest, practicing to be a pirate.
Sometimes you have to stop and smell the flowers. But just make sure there isn't a bee on it or that it is a hot pepper!

Shaking it up...well our ice cream didn't quite work, but our milk shakes tasted GREAT!

Beating the Heat

To beat the heat we headed out to Dodgeville for some swimming with Grandpa and Grandma at their neighbors. Cousin Luke was very proud to display his freshly learned swimming skills. Way to go Luke! Grady starts lessons this week.
After swimming the boys decided to go cruising. Grandma was sure safety came first when she provided the boys with helmets. Grady is sporting Grandma's old Alliant Energy hard hat.

No Rain + High Temps = Expensive Engery/Water Bills

Fortunately this temp was brief when I started my car. Unfortunately it only dropped to 104 for the drive home.

It hasn't rained this May and our grass resembles straw!
Our flowers are doing well, with a daily dose of water.

This clematis and the lone lily with petals remaining, both appreciate the daily drink.

Happy Birthday(s) to Uncle Rick 6/30 and Grandpa Gary 6/29

The family got together to celebrate with dinner and the kids loved all the games at the restaurant.

On our drive home we took some pictures of the beautiful June sunset.

It has been very hot here in WI, so we got some pool time in.
Mom gets some help keeping her toes in the sand from Audra.

We also took the kids to see their future Elementary School's playground. Check it out a Quad Teeter Totter!
